UM/NCGIA : "le National Center for Geographic
Information and Analysis (NCGIA) is a research consortium comprising the University
of California-Santa Barbara, the State University of New York at Buffalo, and
the University of Maine. This site contains information about the Maine site of
the NCGIA with a special focus on faculty research and graduate student
research. The core group of NCGIA researchers at the University of Maine are
faculty members of the Department of Spatial Information Science and
Engineering. Research and graduate education at NCGIA-Maine focus on GIS
software
engineering and the design of information systems. The
Department of Spatial Information Science and Engineering
places emphasis on the acquisition, modeling, and use
of spatial information. Courses in advanced software engineering,
database management, spatial database design, visualization of spatial data
quality, as well as information systems law are offered in addition to geodesy,
remote sensing, photogrammetry, and surveying engineering. Complementary to the
undergraduate program, there is a well established
graduate program offering a Ph.D. degree and an M.S. degree. The programs are
popular with both traditional and non-traditional students, creating a setting
that offers considerable exposure to GIS and surveying professions."
UVSQ/PRiSM :
connaissances (M. Bouzeghoub), Réseaux (G. Pujolle, J-P.
Dr. Max J. Egenhofer : "Dr.
Max J. Egenhofer is the director of the National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (NCGIA) at
the University of Maine, the Libra Professor of the College of Engineering,
professor in Spatial Information Science and Engineering, and cooperating
professor in Computer Science. [...] Dr. Egenhofer's research interests include spatio-temporal,
user interface design for Geographic Information Systems, the
design of spatial database systems, and mobile spatial information
appliances."
Georges Gardarin : "Georges GARDARIN [...] is
heading the PRiSM research laboratory [at the new
University of Versailles Saint-Quentin], the computer
science research laboratory specialized in Parallelism, Networking, DBMSs and
Performance Modeling. The laboratory has now 40
permanent researchers and more than 60 PHD students. Georges Gardarin has written more than 120 papers in international
journal and conferences, and several books in French, some of them being
translated in English and Spanish."
Patrice Boursier :
Michel Mainguenaud : Michel Mainguenaud
vs. Hypermaps" 5th Int. Symp. on Spatial
Data Handling, Charleston USA, Aug. 1992.
